Choosing well
Rent the right size the first time.
Most people overestimate what they need. A few things we've learned in 45+ years of sizing units for neighbors:
- Stack vertically. Units have ceiling height. Sturdy boxes stacked well can cut your footprint nearly in half.
- Leave a walkway. If you'll visit the unit often, size up slightly so you can reach things in the back.
- Disassemble what you can. Bed frames and table legs off means furniture stores flat and tight.
- When in doubt, ask. Describe your rooms over the phone and we'll tell you honestly which size fits — even if it's a smaller one.
Month-to-month terms mean you're never locked into space you've stopped needing.
